4 tips to help you maintain your clear skin

Now that you have clear skin, its better using these tips to maintain it so that you need not fret the next time you need to look great for a function or a presentation!

  1. Hydration

You know that you need to drink water to keep your skin hydrated from within. However no matter if you have dry or oily skin, you also need to use a moisturizer to keep your skin clear and supple all the time. Your face gets dry when you wash it, wherein your pores get clogged and you have acne breakouts.

So use a gentle moisturizer, perhaps almond or coconut oil for dry skin. If you have acne prone or oily skin, you could use jojoba oil, which is similar to skin’s serum. Just apply a few drops of the oil on your face before sleeping every night for best results.

  1. Wash, but don’t over-wash your face

Make it a habit to wash your face at least twice in the day-once in the morning and once at the night before sleeping. This helps get rid of the dirt and cosmetics residue which will eventually clog your pores to trigger acne, pimples, blackheads and other skin problems. So just wash your face twice a day as too much of washing makes the skin dry which in turn leads to other problems like blemishes.

  1. Regular exfoliation is a must

All you need is scrub your face gently to slough away dead skin cells which may otherwise get stuck onto pores and clog them. Use a basic exfoliating recipe of a paste of baking soda with some water and rub on your face gently for a few minutes and wash off with water.

Even sugar and water make a great exfoliator. Just wash and dry your face and mildly rub this mixture in circular motions over your face for a few minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. It’s better to exfoliate your skin once a week to maintain your clear skin.

  1. As usual, no popping or picking of pimples

You must be knowing this by now; popping and picking of pimples is a no-no. It only leads to bacteria spreading around inside to give you an abrasion on your face, and a blemish which takes a long time to heal. In fact, the blemish leaves a permanent scar, which is not worth it on your clear skin.
