8 more home care recipes for dry skin –part 2

As mentioned in the earlier post, dry skin is a condition that affects lots of people. Instead of using over the counter products, there are various dry skin solutions you can make using the usual ingredients found in your kitchen.

While the previous post mentioned about 6 home care recipes for dry skin, this post brings you a few more useful recipes to try out.

  1. Try making and applying a combination of milk cream, honey and ripe papaya pulp to your skin. It not only moistens your skin, but also makes your skin firm and removes blemishes.
  2. Here is a recipe for a great dry skin mask which helps cleanse your skin. Mix half a cucumber with two tablespoons of aloe Vera gel and apply the mixture to your face and neck. Leave it on for about half an hour and then wash off.
  3. Try blending a tablespoon of thick cream and rosewater and a pinch of turmeric. Apply to your face, and leave it on for about thirty minutes before washing off using warm water.
  4. As shea butter and coconut oil are great for treating dry skin, make a mixture of a tablespoon of each ingredient with aloe Vera gel. Then spread the paste on your skin and wash it off using cold water after 15 minutes.
  5. Blend half a banana, a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of sour cream. Apply the mixture generously to your face and neck, and rinse off after 10 minutes.
  6. Another great home care recipe for dry skin involves whisking an egg yolk, a few drops of olive oil or sweet almond oil and a tablespoon of warmed honey. Apply and spread the mixture on both your neck and face and rinse off using lukewarm water after an hour. This is a great natural treatment for dry skin.
  7. You can also give your skin a milk bath as the lactic acid in milk helps exfoliate dry skin cells and thus increases the body’s ability at holding in moisture. So just soak a washcloth in cold milk and leave it on particularly dry or irritated skin for about five minutes. Then gently rinse off the milk so that some lactic acid remains on your skin.
  8. Try this soak to soften rough skin patches. Just fill your tub with warm water, add two cups of Epsom salt to it and then soak in the water for a few minutes. Rub some handfuls of Epsom salt on the rough patches to exfoliate the skin when it is still wet. If time permits, add a few strips of dried seaweed to the bath to boost its softening effect. You will be amazed at how great your skin feels!

These 8 recipes are all effective at treating dry skin. Choose and use the recipe you find easiest to make, and which gives best results to your skin!
