8 tips for younger hands

Practically everyone uses night creams, day creams, exfoliating scrubs and sunscreens to keep their faces looking dewy-fresh. However while concentrating on their faces, most people neglect the biggest age indicator, your hands.  With time, the constant washing, drying and exposure to the elements show on your hands.

Why hands look old

The main reason for hands looking old is sun damage, which is why the more time you spend in the shade, the slower and less evident is the skin damage. Moreover, for younger looking hands, you need to treat them just like you treat your face. This means you need to moisturize them frequently, use sunscreen while going outdoors and minimize its exposure to the elements.

It’s better to use anti-aging hand creams which not only moisturize, but also have brightening ingredients like mushroom extract, licorice, vitamin C and kojic acid. It helps fade away any dark spots you already have on your hands.

Apply the cream once or twice a day as the more frequently you apply it, the faster you notice difference in 2-3 months’ time. The best way to keep your hands clean, moisturized and exfoliated is with a once-weekly homemade scrub made mixing equal parts of sugar and olive oil. Massage the scrub into your hands and if your hands still feel greasy after you wipe off the scrub, wash them afterward.

Cheap hand care products

You don’t have to spend a fortune for younger looking hands. Just use hand care products like Vaseline Intensive Rescue Healing Hand Cream every night and Boots Protect and Perfect Hand Cream with SPF 15 every day. The higher the SPF of the cream, the better its protection when your hands are exposed.

Prevent hands from aging

The best way to keep your hands from aging is by keeping them out of the sun and wearing SPF every day. Wear gloves if you drive a lot as UV rays reach them through the car windows.

Nails need pampering too

For better looking hands, you also have to take care of your nails. Apply cuticle oil on them every day, even over a manicure for stronger nails. This is essential as for healthy nails, you first need healthy cuticles!

Give your nails a break from polish once in a while as polish can be hard on nails. You could also consider taking a few days off so that your nails have time to recover.

Wear gloves while washing dishes as harsh soap and hot water is not good for your nails.

Try these tips, and you should have younger looking hands in no time at all!
