Home skin care for combination skin

A person’s skin type is classified as oily, normal, dry or combination skin. In case of combination skin, you will have an oily T-zone of your forehead, nose and chin while the other parts of your skin have normal to dry skin.

It is generally women who have this type of skin, who usually suffer from acne wrinkles at the same time too. So the best thing they do is apply treatments for different problems only on the affected areas. Consequently, there are many organic face masks meant especially for those with combination skin, which should be worn once or twice a fortnight.

  • Rose water is an effective natural toner for combination skin. So soak rose petals in water for a few hours and then crush them. Then add two tablespoons of rose water and a tablespoon each of organic honey and plain yoghurt to it. Heat this mixture in the microwave for a few seconds till the petals melt. Then spread the resulting mixture over your face and neck, and wash off after 15 minutes’ time.

  • Try blending some papaya, a banana, a cup of honey and 1-2 carrots in a blender. Then leave the paste on your face for about 20 minutes, and rinse off with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. You will soon get beautiful and glowing skin naturally.

  • Apply a paste of milk and sandalwood powder and leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes for skin rejuvenation and to heal blemishes.

  • You can also beat an egg and mix it with a teaspoon of olive oil and 5-6 drops of lemon nectar. Apply and leave this mixture on your face for 20 minutes and wash off with tepid water.

  • You can soften and tighten your skin, and get glowing skin by regularly applying a face pack made by combining two tablespoons each of cucumber juice and watermelon juice with a tablespoon each of plain yogurt and milk powder.
