How to get rid of rashes under breast- Part 1
Come summertime and you find many women complaining of rashes under their breasts. This is a red, sweat rash known as intertrigo, which is defined as a skin inflammation which occurs in the warm and moist parts of the body. It is most common in places where two skin folds rub or press against each other.
The main cause for these rashes under breast are skin to skin friction and candida fungus or Corynebacterium bacteria which survives in warm and moist places. The overweight with large breasts are easily infected by Candida which easily grows in the skin creases under breast.
If you have rashes under your breast, you need to first consult your doctor to rule out the possibility of the rashes being eczema or psoriasis after which you can proceed with these home remedies.
- Cold compress
As rashes under breast itch and gives you a burning sensation, a cold compress gives you lots of relief. Use a cold water or a skim-milk compress for instant soothing relief from these rashes.
Wrap ice in the cloth to make the cold compress and if you use water or skim milk, soaked the cloth in it and wring out excess water or milk. Apply the compress on the affected area for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat when the compress grows warm.
If you use milk, remember to wash the area with mild soap and water once you are done. Moreover, make sure you use a clean cloth lest it leads to an infection.
- Cornstarch
As cornstarch absorbs moisture well, and rashes under the breast develop due to the warm, moist environment, applying cornstarch on the rashes relieves itching and burning to give soothing relief.
However if you apply cornstarch and sweat, it can lead to fungal infection. This is why you need to remain dry and cool before and after applying cornstarch, so that you don’t sweat. Make sure you first wash under your breasts with soap and water, pat dry and only when the area is completely dry should you dust cornstarch over it. Repeat twice a day.
- Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar can effectively treat all types of skin rashes, including rashes under breast. It not only cures the inflammation, but also reduces irritation and itching for fast healing of the rashes.
Diluter about 1-2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar in about 1-2 cups water and wipe the area with some cloth or cotton ball. Repeat 2-3 times a day.
