Oatmeal to help you look younger

Now that you know that oatmeal is indeed great for your skin and body, here are some more interesting recipes you can try out for improved skin and health. High in antioxidants, it is no wonder that oatmeal is useful in so many ways to the human body!

  • Here’s a recipe for an interesting facial scrub. Just mix two tablespoons each of lemon juice and aloe Vera gel with a teaspoon each of sea salt and honey and a quarter cup of uncooked oatmeal. If the resulting paste is rather thick, add some water to it and then spread the mixture to your face and neck. Wash off after about 15 to 20 minutes.

 

  • Even apple has an interesting use with oatmeal. Take half an apple and boil it till it gets soft and peel it. Then put the apple, a tablespoon of honey, half a tablespoon of yogurt and a cup of oatmeal in a blender.

 

Blend all the ingredients and if required, add some hot water to make a smooth paste. Then apply this homemade paste on your oily skin for about 15 minutes and wash off to see the difference!

 

  • Make a thick paste of a teaspoon of baking soda, two teaspoons of instant oatmeal and some hot water. This paste is really helpful at getting rid of your acne.

 

  • Similarly, if you have an acne problem, blend some rolled oats in a blender or food processor to get powdered oatmeal. Then take two tablespoons of this oatmeal powder and add to an equal amount of lemon juice to form a paste. Regular application of this paste to the affected areas helps cure acne and blemishes.

 

  • Oatmeal also helps make you fight signs of aging and look younger by tightening your skin! Just whisk two egg whites and add to a mixture of half a cup of ground oatmeal and a cup of hot water. Once the paste cools, apply it to your face and neck to rinse off after 15 minutes. Regular application of this paste helps reduce your facial wrinkles.

 

  • You can also rejuvenate your skin by applying a blend of two tablespoons of ground oats, a tablespoon of honey, which is slightly heated in a microwave to make it run, and a tablespoon of rose water. Even adding some ground almonds to the recipe helps. Leave the blend on your skin for about 10 minutes, and then wash off using warm water.
