Use your cosmetics wisely to maintain clear skin

There’s more to maintaining clear skin than not popping pimples, regular exfoliation, skin hydration and controlled washing of your face. You need to do things like spot treatment, wise use of cosmetics and get good sleep to maintain your skin.

Use your cosmetics wisely

Avoid using heavy make-up as the lesser the cosmetics you use, the better and faster your skin heals. Avoid creamy foundations and blushes as they clog pores; use powder mineral or water based products instead. No matter how tired you may be, remove your makeup before sleeping. Any residue on your face leaves you with clogged pores and blemishes.

Sufficient sleep

You need sufficient sleep as insufficient sleep leads to sagging skin, tiredness and bags under your eyes. You also lose your glow as our blood vessels dilate and cause dark circles. It is when you sleep that your body repairs all damages, including skin damage. While you need 7 to 8 hours of sleep a day, don’t think that sleeping longer will give even clearer and radiant skin as oversleeping leads to skin cell breakdown.

Spot treatments are necessary

At times, you need some spot treatment to your acne prone skin, especially if there’s something special the next day. You can either use something containing salicylic acid or if you want something natural, try strawberry and honey mixture. Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid which removes dead cells and opens up clogged pores. Just mash one or two strawberries, mix honey and apply to your spots for 15-20 minutes or overnight if possible. Then wash off with lukewarm water, pat dry and apply some moisturizer.

Don’t touch your face much

It’s not ideal touching your face through the day as you don’t keep washing your hands. So when you touch your face with your dirty hands, germs and bacteria gets transferred to your face to trigger various skin problems. It’s also better to keep your mobile away from your face when you talk as it has invisible germs.

Sleep properly

It’s not enough to just sleep for 7 to 8 hours; you need to sleep properly. Make and follow a bedtime routine where you sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Sleeping on your back is better as when you sleep on your stomach, your face presses the pillow and may lead to fine lines and creases on the face.

Use soft pillow cases and preferably white bed sheets if you have sensitive skin as dyes can irritate your skin. it’s better to change your pillow cases at least once a week as the oil, dirt and saliva stuck on it gets transferred to your face when asleep to clog pores and trigger acne breakouts.

Regular exercise is a must

Exercise is not only good for your overall health, but also for clear skin as it promotes circulation necessary for healthy and vibrant skin. With proper circulation, your blood carries oxygen and other nutrients to your body parts and skin. Moreover, proper blood flow also flushes out cellular debris from your body to give you glowing skin.

All you need to do is follow these tips as they will help you maintain your clear skin, something many people die for!
