Drink water to stop and avoid wrinkles

How nice it would have been if it was possible to remove wrinkles just as you could remove the creases from a shirt! Unfortunately, these wrinkles or creases tend to give people nightmares when they appear on the face, neck, hand and other parts because of loss of skin elasticity and moisture.

Wrinkles form because of various reasons like aging, some drugs, drastic weight loss, smoking, pollution, aging or the deficiency of some nutrients. While it’s not possible to single out the cause for wrinkles, or iron them off, there are some home remedies which help prevent remove and even prevent the further formation of wrinkles.

Change your diet

The first in the list is your food habits as though wrinkles appear on the outside of your body, most of the time the cause lies within your body. Your diet should consist of various essential foods which ensure your skin produces collagen to grant elasticity to your skin.

Drink lots of water not to not only avoid and treat wrinkles but to keep you healthy in general. It keeps you hydrated, which is important as one of the reasons for wrinkle formation is loss of moisture.

While 6-8 glasses of water is enough on normal days when you don’t work heavily, when you work hard, go to the gym or do work which drains water from your body, drink more water. Even healthy beverages drunk during the day like fruit and vegetables, but not colas and sodas can be included in your water intake count.

Lifestyle changes

Eat more foods with wrinkle fighting elements like antioxidants, high-quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, plant compounds like retinol, mono-unsaturated fat, etc. examples of such foods are eggs, liver, legumes, beans, dark colored fruits and vegetables, oily fish like sardines, tuna and salmon, brazil nuts, shellfish, soy foods, fruits like papaya, pineapple and watermelon, green and white tea, vegetables like cucumber, ginger, garlic and tomatoes and whole grains like brown rice, oats and whole wheat.

Besides changing your diet to a healthy one, there are some lifestyle changes you need to battle wrinkles. This is because pollution, smoking and stress can also cause wrinkles. So no smoking, even passive smoking as smoke produces free radicals which leads to molecular instability which weakens and kills body cells by damaging its membranes. The body’s collagen production, which gives your skin elasticity is thus affected.

Even if you don’t smoke but are surrounded by smokers, convince them to not smoke or at least ask them not to smoke near you. If they don’t listen, get up and leave to return only after they stop smoking. Just avoid places with tobacco smoke as it affects your skin.
